Altris Inc is a US company incorporated in 2018 with the aim of developing an Artificial solution for OCT interpretation. The company has technological R&D centers in Ukraine and Spain, as well as own ophthalmic clinic.  

In 2020 Altris Inc launched many educational courses for eye care professionals under the Altris Education name. Altris Education OCT is a mobile app specifically designed for interactive education on OCT interpretation.

Altris AI models are CE-Marked medical devices according to the Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EEC. Altris AI models are CE-Marked since July 2019. Altris Inc is certified according to ISO13485 Medical Devices Quality Management System.

Altris encrypts data at rest and in transit via HTTPS protocols and PostgresDB instruments. Altris AI is a cloud-based, Artificial Intelligence powered clinical decision support system to help eye care professionals with OCT interpretation. Altris AI can segment the retina into 10 layers and calculates retina thickness maps, detect more than 100 different retina conditions, can calculate areas and volumes as well as supports different quantitative follow-up examinations for detected biomarkers.

Altris AI recommends using the DICOM file format when exporting examinations (scans) from your OCT device.
This type of a file includes:

• All scans from OCT Examination
• You can select how many scans you want to export into DICOM on your OCT
• Necessary examination data

Therefore using the DICOM type of file gives you more opportunities within the platform:

• Such features as retina layers thickness in a Single scan tab, linear measurements, area, and volume calculations from the Measurements tab are only available when using DICOM file format (not images). In case you upload an image, retina layers thickness won’t be available, as well as the measurements.
• Another advantage of the DICOM format is that you can add patient and examination details in a few clicks by just uploading a DICOM file since this information is being pulled out automatically. In the case of the Images, when for example, uploading an examination, you would have to fill in manually a bunch of information such as scan widths, eye type, etc.

Altris AI can upload and analyze 128 OCT b-scans in less than a minute and will detect more than 100 retina conditions. As a first step, the system receives an OCT examination, analyses each OCT b-scan, and classifies according to different levels of concern (Green, Yellow or Red) as well as segments each retina layer and calculates retinal thickness maps. As a second step, the system analyses OCT scans and segments different areas of interest (pathological areas), and classifies detected pathologies. Any user can quickly start to use the Altris AI platform by subscribing to one of the 4 options available, from the Free plan to Custom plans.  

Free Plan – Limitation of 10 patients per month can be added to the platform, the user is able to use Segmentation and Classification with AI on up to 3 patients and will be able to detect up to 40 retina conditions. 

BASIC subscription plan – Designed for the needs of smaller optometry practices or ophthalmology clinics, the user can upload up to 100 patients per month to the platform and can use Segmentation and Classification with AI for 50 scans per month. The system will segment and classify over 100 pathologic signs and pathologies 

PRO subscription plan – Designed for the needs of medium optometry practice or ophthalmology clinic, the user can upload up to 100 patients per month to the Altris AI platform and can use Segmentation and Classification with AI for 50 scans per month. The system will segment and classify over 100 pathologic signs and pathologies 

CUSTOM subscription plan – This is available for larger individual clinics and multiple site businesses where we can tailor your package to fit your clinical and business needs. Altris AI is easily accessible via the internet. Altris AI browser-based platform that can be used on a variety of web browsers (i.e., Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge) and feature similar capabilities.

Altris AI works with any OCT macular examination in DICOM and non-DICOM formats like jpg, png, bmp, and tiff. The system works with Spectral Domain and Swept Source OCT examinations.
